Lio and Abe have known each other through various sporting activities since childhood. Their relationship to each other covers all the bases from enemies to rivals to a decades long friendship and finally to lovers. The pathway was long and winding for both of them but was needed as they both needed to accept their individual vulnerabilities before they could accept each other romantically. Once they do the chemistry between them sizzles and the heat levels get steamy with some sweet and swoon to balance it out.

When an unknown person creates havoc for Lio and Abe their blended family members lives are put at risk. The strength and solidarity of the family working together prevail and Lio and Abe finally get their long awaited HEA.

This is a very enjoyable read with a perfect balance of strong characters, on point pacing and plot. There’s also some feels along the way and I was left left a happy heart and smiling face at the end.
