Look Closer by David Ellis
5.0

I don't even remember enjoying a book as perfect as this one. And I'm not even joking. From the characters to the writing and story overall, everything is so well paced and placed that I didn't feel the time passing and the next second I was turning the last page of it.

I’ll start off by saying that I have read none of the author's books before, but I know that I’ll be looking forward to read everything from past.

Characters:

I'm going to repeat myself and say I don't remember reading anything similar. They are so easy to follow through the story, but don't think for a second that they are easy to understand. The author has created so many layers of traits and personality that even in the end, you're wondering if you truly understand who they were and what drove them to act like that.

Knowledge, power and recognition, money and greediness, a bit of love and lots of emotions. They both hold them all and thrive in them.

Secondary characters: interesting mix overall with intriguing interactions and appearances throughout.

Plot:

I can only say that I was grabbed from the first chapter to the last. I wanted to know what happened on that Halloween night and more so why and who did it.

What I didn't expect was all the turning corners and intriguing twists.

Conclusion:

Read it now!

I'm honestly hoping we will see this one on the big screen because it's more than worth it.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley
