3.5 stars.
I love Rin and their writing so I was really excited about this book. However I did struggle to like many of the characters.
I feel that this would make an amazing on screen adaptation as despite there being a lot of dialogue there was little character depth for the most part and the chemistry was lacking between a lot of the characters.
I adored the idea behind the story and it was so good to finally see Filipino culture represented in a fairy tale-esque fantasy story. I was just missing Rin's fantastic character depth that I know they can do from their other work.
I will read the sequel but I was left feeling a little disappointed by this one.
