Was this the best book ever written? No. Did I still love every minute of it? Definitely.

This was so freaking cute, I just want to give all the characters a big hug (apart from Maggie’s nasty colleagues and Freddie’s parents that is 🫢). The only thing I was missing was a bit of *spice*. I’m not mad there wasn’t any spice, I don’t NEED it in a romance novel (though I definitely prefer some 🤭) but there was a lack of kissing imo. This is most definitely very much a slowburn. I still loved it. Just don’t go into this expecting a lot of smooching 😅

I really enjoyed the insight this gives into the lives of the people working in the Tower of London. All the history, ceremonies and official goings-on. Especially because this was written by an insider! You know they know their stuff.

This also made me quite emotional. Maggie’s inner struggle was very relatable to me and it was so empowering to see her find her voice and confidence. And the ending definitely didn’t make me cry 🫣😭

Also, I want a Freddie, thanks 💂🏻‍♂️🇬🇧

Was there chemistry?
