The Risk by S.T. Abby
3.0

Okay but let’s be real… why does she immediately assume he’s FBI just based on the way he looks and acts? What happened to the CIA, or literally any other agency? And then the man just confirms it like it’s no big deal? Sir, you’re supposed to be undercover or something. This is not how that works.

And then, I had to laugh at myself because I was like, “Why would the FBI even be in this random small town??” and then the book was like, “Quantico is nearby,” makes no sense but okay. Let’s say it for the plot. Right. Still, shouldn’t it be classified or something? Why is everyone just out here spilling government secrets to girls in bars?? And the way this man described her?? Please. You just met her five minutes ago and you’re already talking like you’re writing poetry in your diary. He honestly needed to relax.

That profiling conversation though was absolute gold. The way those men were confidently tossing out nonsense while Elise sat there quietly dismantling their entire theory with real facts? It was really funny to see because you could tell that Alan and Craig really thought they did something with their little “impotence” idea. I’m Just waiting till they find out it’s his girlfriend doing the killing. The drama is going to be and I’m so ready.

The funny thing is, I don’t even like this book. All the characters annoy me and the author could absolutely do better. But I’m still curious to see how it all unfolds. Lol.
