Jesus, this is one brutal Green Arrow.

I really actually like this volume. It showcases Oliver trying to get back to being a superhero while working with Black Canary and living his life. It's mostly two part or maybe 3 part storylines of him doing so. A old friend comes back into his life to ruin things. A murderer gets out of prison and Diana isn't going to stand for that bullshit after he raped and killed multiple people including kids. Also have a storyline about protesting which works well for today's events.

There's a lot to unpack here and it almost all works. While the copycat storyline is the weakest for me it's still solid. The loose ends of a major character in the last volume come to close in a brutal way. I really liked the honesty of this book as it feels like Oliver is just a normal guy trying to do good. It makes it a lot more relatable than most superhero books.

Overall, very much worth the read. This is one of the strongest runs in Grell's very good run. A 4.5 out of 5.
