I really enjoyed this! For me it was a good balance between sweet and funny--any time I thought it was going to veer into saccharine it picked up a bit of bite, and I thought the tragic backstory unlock felt well-earned and moving. And I really appreciated that it valued grief over death of a friend on par with death of a spouse, in addition to showing the real harm caused before same-sex marriage legalization.
