I really wanted to like this book. It had such an interesting premise, and it pulled me in from the start. But the delivery for me at least fell short. The writing felt too flowery in my opinion, trying hard to make each metaphor/simile unique. And not a lot happened after the owners showed up. We see some weird events happen, but nothing is ever explained. The ending felt so abrupt. I just wanted some answers. Not all the answers. Just some.

Like I said, I wanted to like this book, but unfortunately I just couldn’t.
