The First Collection
by Sarah Lipton-Sidibeh
reflective
fast-paced
I finished this slim volume over the course of the day, and I think they’d be a good choice for someone completely new to poetry, perhaps even a young teenager. It’s split into sections, exploring topics like society today, Britain’s colonial past, body image, and relationships of all kind. They’re very easy to understand, I actually wanted a bit more from them. There didn’t really feel like there was anything between the lines or anything to puzzle out, it’s all right there for you. Hence why I think it’d be a good collection for younger people!
