This is one of those books that I feel like Iām almost smart enough to get. But ultimately left me feeling mostly like this: šµāš«šµāš«šµāš«
Identitti was one wild rollercoaster of a ride, and I had to take breaks often. It veers from acerbic, sharp satire that had me laughing aloud to mind-numbing memory flashbacks that continually threw off the pacing. I ended up feeling really resentful of the writing style because of how tired my brain felt trying to keep track of this timeline. But the parts I enjoyed? I loved.
Overall Iām glad I stuck with it, and honestly it gave me a lot to think over (plus books to follow up with and read!). This is definitely for those who wanted more from Yellowface and are fans of Disorientation.
