I'm not quite sure what I expected from this book, but I was entirely unprepared for it to be a straight up horror novel. I read "medicine show" and "alchemy" and I was in. That being said, I actually really loved it. I guess my normal reading-nothing-but-horror-in-October came early, and I'm so okay with that.
