Fragile Sanctuary
by Catherine Cowles
Catherine Cowles is the QUEEN when it comes to small town romance with romantic suspense. No one does it better than her, and I knew the first book in her brand new series would not disappoint. I have been looking forward to Anson's story, because he's a tortured hero who is brooding and mysterious and I just wanted to know more about him. Anson and Rhodes both share very tragic pasts, and this is something they bond over because they truly understand each other in a way no one else can. I loved that Rhodes is such a strong, brave woman but has so much support in her found family with the foster brothers and sister she grew up with. I can't wait for all of their stories too! Shep and Thea are coming next, which I'm really excited about. There is a "fuck it" moment in this book that I just love, and this is probably Catherine Cowles' most spicy book, and I loved that. I loved all of the side characters, especially Lolli! She is hilarious and lightens the mood so well in a book that could be really heavy at times. Plus, there's always a twist that I didn't see coming and I would NEVER guess who the villain is! Overall, I just loved this book and am so happy about this new series!
