The Dark Chorus
by Ashley Meggitt
This is an excellent mix of horror and psychological thriller, creepy and disturbing.
It’s a book that keeps in thrall the last page even when you are feeling spooked or when the violence is a bit too much.
The author delivers a gripping story with a cast of great characters and an excellent plot.
He’s an excellent storyteller and the world/plot building are very good.
The Boy, the unnamed MC, is a character that I won’t easy forget. You feel his sufferance and delusion but you are left wondering what is reality as there are elements of fantasy in this mix.
Makka and Vee are as damaged as the boy and I like how the author writes them without any judgment.
I think it would be interesting to read a follow up to this story and there’s some space for more and I would like to meet these characters again.
If you love horror or are a fan of serial killer story this is the book for you, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the author and Blackthorn Book Tours for this digital copy, all opinions are mine
