Six of Crows
by Leigh Bardugo
4.5/5
No mourners.
No funerals.
Six of Crows really lives up to the hype. A story of plotting, magic, friendship, trust, and death. Kaz Brekker, the ONE in the Barrels. So when he is asked to retrieve a precious someone, he has to build an efficient team, one that he can count on for accomplishing what he tells them to do. Six of Crows finds itself in the Grisha universe, one you can get to know better by reading [b:Shadow and Bone|10194157|Shadow and Bone (Shadow and Bone, #1)|Leigh Bardugo|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1339533695s/10194157.jpg|15093325] also by [a:Leigh Bardugo|4575289|Leigh Bardugo|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1437274413p2/4575289.jpg]. It’s not necessary to have read it before SoC, but I sometimes asked myself why I didn’t do it. Just know, it’s a lot of information to process in the first 50 pages if you haven’t read the first trilogy before.
Leigh Bardugo has a way to write delightful characters; each one having a depth and an evolution that are believable; each one with different goals, different paths but, when put together, can accomplished grand things. I also really liked the diversity in the characters. You get PoC, WoC and lgbtqa+ ships.
The amount of sass, wits and flirty remarks punctuated the book with funny moments and lots of little plot twists, which kept the book really interesting in all its 460 pages.
