I expected going into this book that it would be fairly light, entertaining and occasionally humorous, along with some serious themes and thoughts about the nature of sentience. I wasn't wrong about any of that, it's all true and has Scalzi's signature writing style. I was surprised though at how emotional I got listening to this audiobook - I cried.

The narration by Wil Wheaton was also perfect, I highly recommend the audio. 

I really enjoyed this book.
