Now THIS is how you do enemies to lovers! The banter? The insults? The hate? GOOD LORD. Maggie Gates has delivered yet another masterpiece with Cry About It, and I could not get enough of it. From the witty banter to the sizzling chemistry, this book had me hooked from page one.

Jo and Vaughan’s story is the perfect blend of humor, heat, and heart. Jo, with her sassy comebacks and "I don’t get mad, I get even" attitude, is an absolute firecracker. Pair her with Vaughan, the snarky city boy who’s as stubborn as he is soft, and you’ve got a recipe for nonstop entertainment. Their verbal sparring was so sharp and hilarious I found myself laughing out loud more times than I could count.

The enemies to lovers trope is executed perfectly here. Most enemies to lovers are just dislike and not hate but these two? Oh, they HATED each other and it showed. The tension between Jo and Vaughan builds beautifully, crackling like a live wire, and when it finally snaps… let’s just say you’ll need a fan because things get hot. Maggie Gates didn’t hold back, and I loved every second of it.

Beyond the romance, the quirky charm of Maren, Texas, adds so much personality to the story. The small town antics, the world’s worst guard dog, and yes, even the canned ravioli and topless bull riding (you have to read it to understand!) all made this book a standout.

Cry About It had everything I could want: laugh out loud humor, palpable tension, steamy moments, and a happily ever after that left me grinning from ear to ear. If you love a good enemies to lovers story with unforgettable characters and a whole lot of heart, this is the book for you.
