I really wanted to like this. Maybe if I'd read Butler's original text first rather than the adaptation I would feel differently. However, the art in this text was not great, the pages were all so busy, and the story dragged on and on. The ending didn't even feel like a sigh of relief (which I imagine it would be for a black woman who is forcibly returned by unknown means to the antebellum South time and time again). I wanted to like this but it was a task to finish this. I think OEB deserved a better adaptation.
