The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
3.5
mysterious slow-paced

I always love the blurbs and the sound of her books, but the way they're written just isn't for me. I really did love the story and the plot so much! The twists were twisting and the mystery was having me confused (in a good way).

This is a great book for anyone who loves to see how the murder/event happened vs the thrill of the investigation afterwards. I enjoyed the back and forth, from the day the friend group arrived at the lodge to present time POVs of Heather trying to contain the situation. For me, the story started really picking up around 60% when it went from day to day to the more juicy bits where everyone starting calling each other out on their shitty behavior. The ending was bitter-sweet, but I feel like it was realistic compared to the character dynamics throughout the book.
