I love anything Devney Perry, and I've been working my way through all of her books. A good friend of mine read this series recently and loved it, so I figured it was time for me to start it. First of all, one of my favorite shows is Mayans MC, and this book definitely had those vibes. It features men in a disbanded motorcycle club that have dangerous pasts, but who are trying to turn their lives around and no longer live the life of crime and danger. But of course, that can't exactly happen when a woman is murdered in town and their founder is accused of the crime. They have to clear his name, and his son, Dash Slater, who is the main male character in this book, clashes with the new reporter in town, Bryce Ryan. Bryce is dead set on believing that Dash's father committed the murder, but Dash isn't so certain and wants to work with Bryce to uncover the truth. As they work together, the tension is high and the chemistry is off the charts. I really feel like this is a cross between Yellowstone (the small town Montana setting with some crime and danger) and Sons of Anarchy/Mayans MC (motorcycle clubs), which makes for a great start to this wonderful series but a terrific author.
