bookbeforeuleap 's review for:
We Come Apart
by Sarah Crossan, Brian Conaghan
This is the story of an unlikely romance between two teens, both with tragic home lives, brought together doing community service.
I loved the two sides to the story and the juxtapose of Jess's steely, negative attitude to Nicu's ever hopeful one. The home lives were heartbreaking and I was routing for them to end up together. The ending was heartbreaking.
This is the third book I have read from this author and I cannot deny that she has an absolute way with words and really opens your eyes to the injustices in the world around us.
My only reason for giving four stars is that I'm not sure Nicu's English should have been written the way it, I understand that it portrays his lack of knowledge of the language but it felt a bit offensive and I think that could have been done in better ways
