This book is an illustration of everything that girls can do. It makes a point of saying that girls are more than pink and glitter and princesses. Girls can be that if they want to, but they can also be rockstars, welders, firemen, etc. Girls can do anything. Just because society sees them as one way does not mean they have to be that way. I love this message in this book and the book does rhyme, but some of them are harsh. It has a cadence, but the cadence is not smooth. And while overall, I do like this book, I wish there was one line that wasn’t in here. And that’s the line “God wanted you to be who you are”.  I like that line because it’s accepting of everybody but by adding the word God, it will automatically turn some parents off whether religious or not.  Based on the cover alone, I don’t think I have staying power on Library shelf. It will look old very fast.
