The Alice Network
by Kate Quinn
It’s 1947 and after WWII. Charlie, a socialite goes to France with her mother to take care of her problem-to get an abortion since she is unmarried. Instead of getting an abortion, she runs off to London and meets Eve and Finn. The three of them search to see if Charlie’s cousin Rose is still alive. Rose disappeared from France during the time the Nazi’s were there. When we meet Eve, we go into her past when she was a spy in WWI.
I really enjoyed the dual timelines and seeing how these two women’s lives played out. I loved how there was the mystery about Rose, historical fiction, and some romance. This was well written, but I do think this book could have been shorter.
