Red Rising by Pierce Brown is the first book in the Red Rising Saga. Darrow is a Red which means he is of the lowest level of their color-coded society. He realizes they have been lied to and eventually he sacrifices everything to infiltrate the system. 

This was a wild ride! Dark and adventurous. Political intrigue, fantastic world building, and rebellions! I am not a huge fan of dystopian type settings but I still really enjoyed this. 

I think this was a great introduction book. Really sets the scene, builds the world, and develops our characters. 

I am definitely excited to continue on with this series.
