My feelings for this book are decidedly mixed. On the one hand, I love the chatty first person writing style (which somewhat reminded me of Rick Riordan's novels), and there were numerous times when I laughed out loud at the witty comments and meta asides. On the other hand, for some reason I just did not connect emotionally with the plot or the majority of the characters; and weirdly for a Sanderson book, the worldbuilding felt underdeveloped and uninteresting. I appreciate that as an adult I am not part of the target audience, but for myself I was disappointed.
