The Gracekeepers
by Kirsty Logan
It's been so long since I've read a book with a circus in so this was refreshing! I felt that the world this book was set in was so vividly imagined: a flooded world where people are split between land and sea with detailed religions and customs. It had bears, mermaids, floating graveyards and honestly what more could you ask for? There was lots of prejudice between different groups of people in this book and I felt that Logan was able to play on how these tensions affected people's relationships so well. Overall, such a creative story with lgbt rep and fascinating characters.
