4 stars - I enjoyed the change of pace in this novel. It was partially set in India, and on a ship, so it wasn’t all London and ton events. I loved Rhystan and Sarani and the flashbacks to their past. It was a bit of a slow burn, but I loved how their relationship grew. I don’t know much about British colonization of India, but I appreciated the commentary on colonization, discrimination, and bi-racial identity. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a historical romance that feels a bit different!
