Lolita was a very strange book. I knew this going into it, but I had no idea how weird it was going to be. I didn't expect lolita to be Humberto's step-daughter. not only was she his step-daughter, but she called him dad and was self-aware that it was technically incest and wrong. Humbert also understood that it was shameful, but somehow still went through with their relationship. While I thought the writing itself was good, I hated reading the pedophilia and the thought process of Humbert.
