This was an interesting character study, but I feel like if I knew more about the time period it was written in I would've enjoyed it more. A lot of it seemed referential and like there was a joke I wasn't getting.

The footnotes in this edition were mildly helpful, but didn't give me enough of the picture to fully understand references.
