Downgrading it to 4 stars, I just didn’t enjoy the book as much the second time around… not gonna lie, I think it’s because I enjoyed the movie so much. It’s still a great read but I got the references in the movie better than the book references which helps a lot. Still a great book though
4.5/5 stars!
I totally see why everyone loves this book!
It’s such a cool concept, being immersed in a video game world, battling the forces of evil trying to corrupt the OASIS, and trying to solve the clues to find the egg! There was a slow point towards the middle of the book when I wanted to shake Wade and tell him to grow up but once we got past that and the story picked up again it was great!
It’s definitely not something I normally would have read but I’m glad I did. And it’s definitely a concept I’d enjoy seeing in other books. I’m not a big gamer but I can see why a world like that is appealing to people.
I really hope the movie does the book justice. If it does it could end up being a really cool movie!
