Home Before Dark
by Riley Sager
4.75 stars! I really liked this one!
I’m not gonna lie I didn’t have high hopes going into this because it was giving off cheesy and cliche haunted house vibes. It gave me so much more than that. There so much mystery and suspense and Sager kept me engaged through the whole experience. We balanced between real and paranormal, never knowing quite what to believe.
I really enjoyed the formatting of the book, split between the main characters experiences and a novel written by her father. It brought interesting parallels and questions to the reader. Sager’s writing was kept simple and approachable making it SUPER easy to fly through.
I spent the whole book wondering how it would end, and let me just say, I never saw that ending coming.
Would recommend to any of my mystery/paranormal thriller lovers! Or anyone who thinks they may wanna get into the genre.
