Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer

adventurous challenging inspiring medium-paced

This was my first read of the Timeless series and I loved it so much that I need to go back and read the other 3!

A girl Caroline who lives 2 lives- one in 1727 as a stowaway on a pirate ship masquerading as a boy and in 1927- the daughter of a minister who has to keep her brother's nefarious activities quiet lest her family be ruined.

I liked her life in 1727 the best. I understand why she wanted to escape where she was raised there and she was so brave to hide as a boy. Though I'm a big fan of the 1920s, I really felt it unfair the secret she had to keep from her parents.

I like that when she tells people at this age of her double lives, they are a bit skeptical but choose to believe her.  I think she trusts the right people to help her understand this gift she has been given. The choices she had to make related to the gift are hard but I felt she made the right one even when it's sad.
