I’m rounding up because I could hardly put this book down. Until the last ~3 chapters, I thought this was easily going to be the best book I read in 2023. But the ending is so freaking heartbreaking and unfair and almost pointless as to why we spent the whole book reading this story in the first place. I won’t give away any more spoilers than that. I think this book is FASCINATING and the protagonists are excellent but be prepared to be furious and disappointed toward the end.
