When everything happened in the beginning, Owen really pissed me off with the way he was so cruel and mean to Everest for the way he dealt with learning of his sister's death and processing his grief. He was so condescending about so many things that he was so frustrating 🥴

It wasn't until around the 70% that he started to change his ways for the better and treat Everest better. Personally I felt that there wasn't enough talk about the past between them and it was all skirted over. 

Everest was such a sweet, free spirited soul. He loved so much and my hurt heart for him for how he was treated just for being himself. 

There was growth from both characters but it was so far at the end of the book that we couldn't get the full effect of their progress. 

Ivy was the absolute sweetest little girl and the things she had to deal with at her age was heartbreaking.
