This was a case of "not the reader for this book." I had a really hard time putting myself in Adam's shoes and spent the whole time being like "this kid" and "isn't that convenient."

However, if you have a 4th-7th grade student who loves cryptids or survival stories in the Everglades, I bet they will love it. I have a first grader at my library I would love to give this to in a few years (if he's still obsessed with Bigfoot then.)
