So this series is nothing like the film, which is not a bad thing.
I say this because I came to the books, knowing they were different, but expecting answers and a further exploration into the themes in the film.
While the books did not explore the same themes or answer any questions posed by the film, it gives an interesting alternative world and history which is compelling.
I wish I had know all of this though so I could have savoured the books. I sped through them, excited by the first and by the potential that existed though I should have treated them as two different things who happened to have similarities.
I really enjoyed this series however and I plan to reread them at some point soon (something I never do) to better understand and engage with this story.
I’m excited to read more about the books (theories and interviews) and listen to Geeks Guide podcast on film vs book

I really like how different all the books are, from perception to simple form.
