Lucy is such an unlikeable character so much; never tells anyone about the second Priest Hole like that's a thing she was likely to forget. Then apparent her whole thing is just "I feel guilty so I'm gonna let people think a person who I accidentally killed is a thief." It makes no sense for her to keep going for whole life.
