Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing the audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I still love The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven and ever since she has been on my radar. The Society of Soulless Girls has very different vibes, though. It is more gothic and dark but her humour is still present. The gothic and dark atmosphere is unsurprising since the book has elements of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. (You do not have to know this classic to enjoy this book).
Roommates Alice and Lottie just started university at Carvell College of Arts. The college is notorious for the North Tower murders that happened on campus ten years ago, forcing the elite university to close its doors. Lottie is determined to find out what happened a decade ago. Alice just wanted to escape her tough home situation. Supernatural things start happening when Alice stumbles upon a sinister soul-splitting ritual hidden in Carvell’s haunted library.
Perfect for readers who love a mystery with supernatural and sapphic elements.
