You Can Go Your Own Way
by Eric Smith
Thanks to the author for the ARC!
I really enjoyed this one! I couldn't fall asleep last night for the life of me, and this book kept me company while the insomnia was visiting. It's the perfect book to put you in a wintery mood, and it's super cute.
It did take me a bit to get into it. The beginning is a little slow, but around 30% I was fully invested. It has some of my favorite tropes: friends to enemies to *more than friends*; forced proximity; there's only one emergency blanket (???). It was a lot of fun, and I loved the music and pop culture references sprinkled throughout. Sometimes contemporary books lean too heavily on that and it can date them, but I think this book struck the perfect balance.
And I really liked Whitney and Adam's rapport. Their history of friendship was apparent and it gave great depth and foundation to their relationship.
Definitely a great read for this time of year!
