The Spirit Phone by Arthur Shattuck O'Keefe

If you enjoy alternate history with some fantasy adventure, you might enjoy this book. The basic premise is that Edison invented a spirit phone to communicate with the dead. Crowley, a mage, and Tesla, Edison’s archrival, use their combined magical and technological skills to investigate the new spirit phone and prevent disaster.
It was a really interesting concept but I found that it dragged at some points and was confusing at others. I think too many things were incorporated into the plot and it could have benefited from a bit of simplification. The author is certainly not lacking in creativity and for the right readers he will find a solid fan base!
