Okay, I love anything Colleen Hoover writes. But oh boy, this one was hard to take. I wanted to root for them but Ben said and did a lot of things that I find manipulative and creepy and the very definition of toxic masculinity. I know Hoover can do better, and has done better. It was well written, but so many things bothered me. I didn't care for the fact that they ended up together after that plot twist because in all reality, if your boyfriend told you he was the responsible for your fourth degree burns on 30% of your body and lied to you for four years about it, I really don't think you would forgive him and live happily ever after. Plus, Ben literally hooks up with his dead brother's wife. Um, no. Immediately no. This one really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm glad I got it from the library and didn't actually buy it. Yikes.
