I liked how much time was spend getting to know the characters and observing their relationship dynamics - how they tried figuring out whom to trust etc. I have not read many books like this one, so that was quite cool. On the other hand, I sometimes wished for there to be a bit more plot, to keep the pace slightly faster. Not much, just a bit. It sometimes felt like I was essentially listening to a lot of conversations that tried to do the same thing: Building alliances. That's probably a bias in my head, but it still felt like that. I also had a hard time falling in love with the characters. They're intersting characters and I liked them for the most part, but I wasn't really vibing with anyone enough to attach myself fully to the story. All in all I'm excited to start the second one soon though and I wanna know what happens next, because the ending was promising in my opinion.
