I don’t know, it seems maybe I’m in the minority, but I just did not find this that powerful or fun to read. I was endlessly frustrated with Sky as a protagonist and everytime the book did a “[insert word] thought Sky, a word that sounded like [insert adjective]” I was like ARGH!!

I also DO understand the prose being written in the way it was, using no quotation marks and whatnot makes it seem more as if it’s an story being told to you but an interesting concept in prose doesn’t always correlate to an enjoyable reading experience. For me, anyways, I just found it to sort of melt into itself and become this word soup I wasn’t hungry for.

I feel I’m being quite mean (oops, this professor apparently teaches at my college and I had NO idea when I picked it up. For what it's worthy my friend knows her and said she's absolutely lovely and really helpful!), there is some nice imagery at times and it’s interesting to see climate catastrophe literature. (I also went AYOOO at the Mother split into “Moth” reveal but I thought the other half would be “her” or something. Anyways.)

Idk….Storygraph was right that this was out of my comfort zone but I didn’t really enjoy it…sorry…
