I don't' think I've read any of Lackey's books outside of the Valdemar series, but this book sounded good when someone posted about it in r/whatsthatbook.

This was cute. A very easy fantasy read that was humorous overall. I can't remember which other book it reminds me of (Dealing With Dragons? maybe?), but the element of Tradition was a convenient plot twist.

I had the hardback 1st edition from my library and noticed a lot of small typos and errors, BTW.
