Camouflage

Giselle's story isn't a pretty one. From the prologue it is gritty, raw, real.
Told in the past and present, we learn about the woman behind the facade. She may look like she has it all, but so much has been taken from her already.
And then there is Draz. Oh my goodness that man is all kinds of goodness. I love the push/pull between he and Giselle, the bite and snark that keeps them going. For them, fighting is pretty much extended foreplay.
I was completely immersed in this story. It was gutwrenching and heartbreaking, but also full of hope. At times as I was reading, I felt like I needed to look over my shoulder just to be sure I was alone.
This book shows that we all have our own camouflage. Whether we hide behind a smile, makeup, laughter, our clothes, there is always a part of ourselves that we hide, whether we realise we do it or not.
I couldn't help but hope for good things for Giselle, and Draz may have just been the perfect antidote to her hiding.
Kathleen Maree is a new to me author, but after reading Camouflage, she is definitely on my radar in future.
