This book was leaps and bounds better than the first installment in the prequel series, The Carrie Diaries. I found that book to be.. well, weird and pretty boring, since it barely seemed to be the Carrie we know and there were no other familiar characters. In Summer in the City, we finally see Carrie in NYC and begin to meet our favourite characters from the series!
