The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun
5.0

This was a cute book with diverse characters that I appreciated. It is the male version of books like One to Watch and If The Shoe Fits, where it takes place behind the scenes of a Bachelor type show. This time, the main characters are the season's "prince", who it turns out didn't really know what he was getting into and has major anxiety and personal space issues that threaten filming success. His handler, who deals with depression himself, helps him become more comfortable and they get to know each other well, which then also threatens filming. I thought the author handled the mental health topics well and the exploration of sexuality and attraction.

Yep, still 5 stars upon re-reading! Charlie and Dev must be protected at all costs--their journeys both separately and together are so real and heartfelt. Mental health plays a starring role in this book and is handled beautifully. Queer self-discovery/acceptance and love are also so well done, with a multitude of identities represented. Plus, I have come to learn that I even though I don't watch them on tv I love a dating reality show trope in romance books!
