The newest Victoria Alexander is a twist on the typical romance novel. In this novel, the couple is already happily married and has been for two years. Evelyn was a spy once upon a time, but she never told her husband. She left the service to be the typical happy housewife. However, her husband Adrian has an even bigger secret. He knows all about her patriotic background, because he used to be her boss. Adrian was “Sir”, or head of this secret government agency, and when the agency thought Evelyn might be a double agent, Adrian decided it was time to meat his employee. I was initially turned off by the first chapter (who reads a romance novel where the couple is already happily married?) but found my self fully engrossed in the tale. How would these two come together? Are Evelyn’s feelings for Sir greater then for Adrian? What about when she finds out that they are one and the same? To find the answers, be a spy yourself and read the book. I promise, you will not regret it.
