The story follows Kane and Callie, you are from two different crime syndicates. Callie tries to live a life away from her father and her brother who only sees her as a pawn and Kane does exactly that, he takes her as leverage against her father. But both of them cannot the chemistry they have when they are together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and the characters. I loved how headstrong Callie is and that she does not take shit from everybody while one can still notice her vulnerability. Kane on the other hand knows exactly what he is doing until Callie comes his way. The chemistry between these two characters is undeniable and I absolutely love their banter. I really appreciated the family relationships that were portraited between Kane and Liam as well as Callie and Imogen. The end of the book has destroyed me a bit emotionally and I cannot wait to read the second one.
