Issue 1 I dug, issue 2 I enjoyed but didn't love, and as it went on my interest grew bigger and bigger until a fantastic final issue for volume 1.

This is a pretty brutal story. Basically these "kids" are given up by the families to be sacrifices to the big strong god like creatures who run the lands. We get different species from Orca humanoids to chicken ones, who all look so different, but very human like that you can relate. A truly dark turn for most characters, a great villain, and fantastic art. While it takes a bit to get going by the end I wanted MORE. A 4 out of 5.
