Meet the book that gave me nightmares as a child. I watched the movie first with my dad and I don't know why I thought oh yea I should read the book. My dad owned it at the time so I borrowed it from him. It took me forever to read because I kept having to put it away and then pick it up and keep going. You know that episode of friends where Joey puts the book in the freezer. That is exactly what you need to do with this book sometimes. Plus having the picture of Jack Nicholson in my mind while reading this book made it all the more terrifying. I don't think I could make it through this book as an adult who can no longer read horror without massive anxiety.
